We are extremely pleased to be able to offer Dryker and his progeny here in Oklahoma. Dryker is bred by John Henkel, breeder of Wilhendorf kennel, one of the best breeders of GSDs in America. The Wilhendorf breeding program has produced numerous VA and top V dogs and is consistently represented among the top GSDs in both America and Germany.

Dryker is simply bred to be top producer. All six of the dogs in the first two generations of his pedigree are both VA and SchH3 KKl-1 "a"! This includes such world famous dogs as World Sieger Ursus v. Batu, North American Sieger Lars, and the notable VA Solo (a full brother to World Sieger Yasko v. Farbenspiel), and VA Hobby (producer of many top dogs worldwide).

While VA males are common in many pedigrees, to see numerous VA females is rare. Dryker's pedigree features some of the best females in the world, not only VA but also top producers, including his dam VA Jade (H.O.T to her SchH2, SchH3 and her VA!) and the top producing female, VA Connie. Also to be found here are VA Evi and VA Hilla (litter sister to the influential male VA Hoss v. Hassenborn).

It is also notable that Dryker's litter sister Della is also SchH3 KKl-1 "a" and has already been VA twice! (Her photo on the GSDCA-WDA newsletter cover is below.)

However, it does not matter how impressive the pedigree if the dog itself is not quality! We have all seen dogs with impressive pedigrees who lack in temperament or health. That is not the case with Dryker, he truly embodies the best traits of his pedigree.

Like his sire, grandsire and great-grandsire, Dryker is a male filled with power. He has a large, expressive, masculine head, strong bone and excellent body proportions. He is a beautiful mover, with good drive and reach and nothing excessive in his angulations. Despite being a large dog Dryker is a natural athlete, power and grace in one package. Even though Dryker is a young dog he already has some impressive accomplishments, despite only light showing. Dryker competed as a senor puppy at both the USCA and WDA Seiger Shows and was rated “Very Promising” at both. He also competed as a young dog in the WDA Sieger Show and was rated “Very Good”. As an adult Dryker recently competed in the USCA Mid Central Region Conformation Championship where he was rated V1 and awarded the title of Regional Champion (Landesgruppen Sieger). Dryker has also competed nationally as an adult and was rated V (Excellent) at the USCA Sieger Show, where he was also earned the rating “pronounced” in Courage, Hardness and Fighting drive in the protection phase of this event.

Don't think, however, that Dryker is one of those “pretty” dogs who lack in intelligence, drive or ability in performance events! Dryker has been owned and trained by Monty Steele since puppy hood and Monty has competed with Dryker for all his numerous titles, both working and show. Monty and Dryker have competed successfully up to the SchH3 level as well as earning an FH1 in our tough Oklahoma tracking conditions. Monty also trained Dryker's dam Jade to her SchH2, 3, KKl-1 and VA titles. As a further testimony Dryker's outstanding temperament both he and his dam (Jade) have worked in pet assisted therapy, helping lift the spirits and speed healing in children and others in need during hospital stays.

Beauty and brains, but that is not enough, Dryker is also a fun dog! He lives in a home (with owner Monty Steele) with three female GSDs including his dam Jade. Dryker is not dog aggressive in anyway and has a confident and clear temperament. He is a social dog, friendly and outgoing, who enjoys all the usual doggie things ( like a good game of ball).

Dryker is available at stud to approved females (please follow this link for information on our stud services). His recent litters look very promising and his progeny are already winning. Dryker's son, our home-bred, W. von der burg Austerlitz (out of our Nova) was recently placed VP-1 (6-9 Males) at the 2006 Mid-Central Region Conformation Championships!
