We have had many requests to put together a training package for our puppies. So after several years of consideration, we have put together several packages that we hope meets the needs of these families.

We offer two puppy training options for our clients:

• You can enroll your puppy in private or group training classes with Susanne through Clickety Split Dog Training. Private lessons enroll year round and can be scheduled at your home (Tulsa Metro or Sand Springs) or with us in Tulsa or Sand Springs. Group lessons enroll spring and fall in Tulsa and Sand Springs. Group classes focus on teaching basic obedience through positive reinforcement methods. An emphasis is placed on manners, impulse control, and (of course) fun!
• We also offer in-kennel training for our home-bred puppies through our Deluxe Puppy Training Package (DPTP). (Please note the DPTP is ONLY available for our home-bred puppies: we offer no in-house training for outside puppies or dogs. Please consider one of our other training options if you are not purchasing a puppy from one of our litters.)

Our Deluxe Puppy Training Package is not intended to replace the “at-home” training every puppy and dog needs to ensure that he or she is a mannerly and well adjusted member of the family and society in general. Instead our puppy package is intended as a “step up” to a well mannered adult dog. In this way our puppy package provides each puppy with a firm foundation in good manners, house training, and socialization with both people, other dogs, and cats (and even the occasional chicken!). Since a well-trained puppy is only half the battle, owners are also given a crash coarse in operant conditioning techniques and the proper use of markers, such as a clicker, so they can continue training after taking their puppy home. While all our puppies go home with a lifetime of “tech support” from the team of trainers at AGSD, families who choose the Deluxe Training Package receive follow-up coaching and training support at the time their puppies go home, and again down the road (as puppies reach adolescence).

The Deluxe Training Package ($500, regardless of litter) includes the following:

1. Boarding: Puppies remain at AGSD an additional 7 weeks until the age of 16 weeks.
2. Health Care: Puppies are kept current on all vaccinations during their extended stay. When these puppies go home at 16 weeks they have finished all necessary puppy vaccinations (including rabies) and require no additional core vaccines for 12 months. Puppies start heartworm prevention at 12 weeks and receive this monthly.
3. Training: Using only positive training techniques, puppies are trained in the following skill areas:
1. Mannerly leash walking.
2. Sit, down, come, and stand on cue.
3. Polite greetings (sit nicely to meet visitors).
4. Safe door manners (no running out! Sit quietly and wait for release).
5. Crate training with a “go to bed” cue.
6. Puppy house-training.
7. Grooming (puppies are taught proper manners during grooming, having their ears cleans, and nails trimmed).
4. Socialization: Puppies interact freely with dogs of various ages and dispositions. Cats are introduced inside the house. Puppies also socialize and interact with visitors and family members.
5. After Care: Owners are instructed in training techniques used, and how to continue and maintain their puppy's training at home. Two private lessons (one at pick-up and one at a later date) are included.

Our Deluxe Training Package is excellent for those families who have no one home during the day to babysit and house-train their puppy. Young puppies need frequent potty breaks and socialization, and if no one is available during the day, this service allows puppies more time to mature before moving into a busy household.

If you have toddlers and need your puppy to have basic training, but don't have the time, let us do that work for you. You'll bring home a slightly more mature puppy already equipped with basic manners. All you need to do is maintain the training with a few short sessions a week.

If you really don't enjoy the baby puppy stage this service allows you to bring home an older puppy, more mature, with some training instead of getting an older puppy from a different breeder with an unknown history of training and socialization.
